Forgotten Intentions | Nobbinmaug

We met on the roof across the divide as people tend to do. We were both there to watch the sun set over the city. The sun painted the sky in glorious hues as it dipped, but my attention remained focused on her. Long after the sun abandoned us, we remained.

The rooftop became the setting for our secluded rendezvous. Sunsets, stars, and wine fueled our nocturnal conversations.

On our wedding night, she shared a confession. That night, she wasn’t on the roof for the sunset. Loneliness and depression led her there. It was a reminder of my forgotten intentions.

End Of The Rainbow | Nobbinmaug

Bill Sampson-Simpson docked his boat on the quiet, storm-beaten island.

Bill alienated his family, lost his home, and couldn’t keep a job. He survived as a fisherman. He sailed the world, chasing rainbows. It was about to be worth it. After 20 years, he could anticipate a rainbow’s appearance. One was about to land on this island.

He ran into the trees. The clouds cracked. The sun peeked through. The rainbow arched, and Bill Sampson-Simpson was at the end.

The pot appeared. He ran to it, clutched it. He looked inside.

“God damn it!!!! Lucky Charms?”

They were bitterly delicious.

T for Tea | Nobbinmaug

“Fancy a spot of tea?” Brian asked.

“That was the worst English accent I have ever heard,” Jessica said.

“Ever?”

“Ever.”

“Harsh.”

“I hope your tea is better than your accent.”

“It is. Here. Careful, it’s hot.”

Jessica blew gently on her tea, then carefully sipped. “Mmm… It’s sweet, but there’s something a little tart. Wha…” She grabbed at her throat.

“Remember that time, 30 seconds ago, when you made fun of my English accent?”

Jessica only managed a gurgle in response.

“I’ve been planning my revenge ever since,” Brian cackled through his pseudo-English accent. “At last, vengeance is mine!”
