Sunset | Lisa Paul

the day is tired

lays down and opens its heart

and all the colors

of each beautiful moment

that transpired today bleed out

Reparations | Britta Benson

Another broken heart barely mended.

Not a cause for celebration.

This one calls for a cool, sarky snarl.

Another stump.

Another stain.

Another story.

Barely bearable.

Barely true.

But we don’t judge here.

We just live.

Britta Benson is a German circus performer, writer and linguist, thriving in Scotland since the year 2000. In Your Dreams | Lynn White

One day soon they’ll try to dig up your dreams.

Of course, you’ll be dead by then

and unable to protect them

anymore.

They’ll let you rest in peace, but not your dreams

and there are flakes of gold hidden there.

I hope they don’t find them.

Quiet | Lisa Paul

quiet is my life

the big sounds don’t come out now

they echo inside

a peaceful mountain

just a wisp of steam it hides

molten emotions

On softness | Britta Benson

and in that moment

when reality crystalizes

concentrates

rock solid

around a heart

remember that this

is a game

you agreed to play

and no matter how far

you can flex

crook and stretch

nothing in this life

is unbreakable

for a reason.

To Live In A Dream | Lynn White

I have dreams

which can take me anywhere

and take you with me

to places you haven’t been

and may not want to go,

that can send us spinning

to an indeterminate end

which you cannot control.

But then, neither can I.

Glowing | Lisa Paul

As quiet as the sunrise,

your love glows for me,

gentle fingers of warmth and light

reach for me, pull me

from the darkness. Your eyes

are the morning stars,

they say, I am here,

I will always find you,

faithful as the sun.

hope | Britta Benson

plaited between a past

something is breaking

I will have to write it down

describe a new thin element

I will lead it

home

Dandelion Time | Sarah Dodd

A minute is such a minute thing, a sliver in the grand scheme of time .

We are flickering shadows on life’s stage; candles burning feeble flames, staving off the night.

Each moment is ephemeral, transient eternity, meant to be savored before it slips away.

Memories are amber, the mind’s way of preserving our precious past,

As day fades gently into night, the dandelion fluff of experience catches the wind and drifts away.

They float like pale ghosts into the future, seeking fertile soil in which to take root.

The Nature Of Nurture | Bartholomew Barker

For some to nurture is their nature,
meant to be parents, friends, lovers,
always the first called when tragedy arrives,
first to come when a child cries,
first to care while the lonely abide
because we know they — you offer comfort
right when I need you the most.
