Angry Afternoons | Bartholomew Barker

In winter I can wear more layers
but on these angry afternoons
of burning blacktop
sweat stains
and sunburn
there’s only so much I can take
off and not get arrested


Bartholomew Barker is an organizer of Living Poetry, a collection of poets in the Triangle region of North Carolina. His first poetry collection, Wednesday Night Regular, written in and about strip clubs, was published in 2013.
